Hurricanes can be scary and even dangerous. There are many sources to help you prepare for these weather events, but few focus on what to do during when safely inside.

Here are our suggestions to help you pass the time:

• Jot down ideas in a journal
• Catch some zzzz's
• Read an actual book
• Host a dance party
• Test mixology skills
• Organize the cabinets (or not)
• Put a deck of cards to use
• Start a sketchbook
• Raid the freezer for ice cream (before it melts!)
